Cariasis is a type of parasitic infection caused by a type of roundworm known as a nematode. It is one of the most common parasitic infections in humans, and is spread through contact with contaminated soil, food, or water. Symptoms of cariasis can include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue. Treatment typically involves medications to kill the parasites, as well as dietary changes to reduce symptoms.
