Description

Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a progressive neurological disorder that affects thinking, behavior, and movement. It is caused by the buildup of abnormal proteins, called Lewy bodies, in the brain. Symptoms of LBD can include memory loss, confusion, visual hallucinations, difficulty with movement, and changes in behavior. As the disease progresses, it can lead to difficulty with activities of daily living, such as dressing, eating, and bathing. Treatment for LBD typically includes medications to manage symptoms, as well as lifestyle changes to help manage the disease.
