Description

Cervical dysplasia is a precancerous condition in which abnormal cells grow on the surface of the cervix. It is caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) and is usually detected through a Pap test. Cervical dysplasia can range from mild to severe, and if left untreated, can lead to cervical cancer. Treatment options include cryotherapy, laser therapy, and loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP).
