Description

Congenital heart disease NOS (not otherwise specified) is a term used to describe a group of heart defects that are present at birth. These defects can involve the structure of the heart, the way it works, or both. They can range from mild to severe and can affect the heart's ability to pump blood effectively. Common types of congenital heart disease include atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, and coarctation of the aorta. Treatment for congenital heart disease can include medications, surgery, or a combination of both.
