Description

Delayed puberty is a condition in which a person experiences a delay in the physical changes associated with puberty. This includes the development of secondary sexual characteristics such as breast development in girls, and facial and pubic hair growth in boys. It can also include a delay in the onset of menstruation in girls and the growth of testicles and penis in boys. Delayed puberty can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetic disorders, chronic illnesses, and certain medications. Treatment for delayed puberty depends on the underlying cause and may include hormone therapy, lifestyle changes, or surgery.
