Description

Infectious diarrhea is a type of diarrhea caused by a virus, bacteria, or parasite. It is usually accompanied by abdominal cramps, bloating, nausea, and sometimes fever. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Treatment typically involves drinking plenty of fluids, eating a bland diet, and taking over-the-counter medications to reduce symptoms. In some cases, antibiotics may be necessary to treat the underlying infection.
