Description

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects the large intestine. It is characterized by abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation. IBS is a chronic condition that can last for months or years. The exact cause of IBS is unknown, but it is believed to be related to an imbalance of bacteria in the gut, stress, and diet. Treatment for IBS includes dietary changes, stress management, and medications.
