Trimellitic anhydride (TMA) is an organic compound used in the production of plastics, resins, and adhesives. It is a white, crystalline solid with a strong, acrid odor. It is also used as a catalyst in the production of polyester resins and as a curing agent for epoxy resins.
TMA is a known skin, eye, and respiratory irritant. It can cause skin and eye irritation, as well as respiratory irritation and difficulty breathing. Long-term exposure to TMA can cause skin sensitization, asthma, and other respiratory problems.
