Description

1-4-Butanediol (1,4-BD) is an industrial solvent and chemical intermediate used in the production of plastics, adhesives, and other products. It is also used as a recreational drug due to its sedative and euphoric effects.

Toxic effects of 1-4-Butanediol include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, and coma. In extreme cases, it can cause respiratory depression, cardiac arrest, and death.
