Description

Mitotane, also known as o,p'-DDD, is a drug used to treat advanced stages of adrenocortical carcinoma, a rare form of cancer that affects the adrenal glands. It works by destroying the cancer cells and preventing them from growing and spreading. Mitotane can also be used to treat Cushing's syndrome, a disorder caused by too much cortisol in the body.

Common side effects of mitotane include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, dizziness, headache, and abdominal pain. Other more serious side effects include liver damage, bone marrow suppression, and an increased risk of infection.
