Description

DDE (dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene) is a persistent organic pollutant (POP) and a breakdown product of the pesticide DDT. It is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless solid that is insoluble in water. DDE is toxic to humans and animals, and can cause a variety of health effects.

DDE is known to cause reproductive and developmental problems, as well as liver and kidney damage. It is also linked to cancer, endocrine disruption, and neurological damage. Long-term exposure to DDE can lead to an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer, including breast cancer.
