Description

Aminopterin is a folic acid antagonist, meaning it blocks the action of folic acid in the body. It is used in chemotherapy to treat certain types of cancer. It is also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.

Aminopterin is toxic and can cause serious side effects, including bone marrow suppression, anemia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and hair loss. It can also cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy.
