Description

Chronic adrenal cortical insufficiency, also known as Addison's disease, is a rare endocrine disorder caused by the body's inability to produce enough of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone. It is caused by damage to the adrenal glands, which are located on top of the kidneys. Symptoms of chronic adrenal cortical insufficiency include fatigue, weight loss, low blood pressure, muscle weakness, and darkening of the skin. Treatment typically involves hormone replacement therapy, lifestyle changes, and stress management.
